  • Cook time: 30-35 minutes
  • Servings: 16 brownies

Shop Key Ingredients

  • High-Quality Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 8x8 Inch Baking Pan

Full Recipe Ingredients

Image
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (85g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides to easily lift the brownies out later.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk them together until smooth and fully incorporated.

  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Whisk vigorously for about one minute until the mixture becomes lighter in color and slightly fluffy. This step helps create that signature crinkly top!

  • In a separate, smaller bowl, sift or whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add these dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold them in gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.

  • Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

  • Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and use the spatula to spread it evenly into the corners.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached, but not wet batter. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and slicing.
